Reza Salim is the director of APC-member organisation, the Bangladesh Friendship Education Society (BFES). BFES, a non-government development organization based in Bangladesh, was established in 1993 to support educational projects in rural areas. The Developing Knowledge Network is a key BFES initiative.
Reza believes it is crucial to empower rural communities, for instance by helping them to access information and communications technologies (ICTs). In Bangladesh, more than 80% of the population live in the countryside. Reza is attending the second IGF to learn from others’ experiences and is particularly interested in the workshops on rural access.
