APC’s ‘What can you do to end violence against women? Take Back The Tech!’ video is the featured video on the United Nations’ Say NO – UNiTE to End Violence Against Women campaign this week.
The video was produced as part of APC’s MDG3: Take Back the Tech! to end violence against women project and the Take Back the Tech! campaign, a collaborative social movement that promotes the creative and strategic use of technology in the fight to end gender-based violence.
Take Back the Tech! invited people around the world to take one action per day during the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (25 November – 10 December 2010) to end violence against women and girls. Each daily action explored an issue of violence against women and its interconnection with communication rights, and approached different communication platforms – online and off – in creative and tactical ways.
Say NO – UNiTE to End Violence against Women is a campaign initiated by UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. Launched in November 2009, it is a global call for action to end violence against women through social mobilisation.
