One week before the start of the second Internet Governance Forum (IGF) —a
space where access to the internet is discussed— Cameroon is shut out
of the internet. A news article

believed to be the cause of the problem, according to an official
source in the Cameroon’s economic capital."

On the eve of the IGF II, APC’s member in Cameroon,
Protege QV, says that "this is horrible, incredible", talking in front
of the hotel where the IGF convenes, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This
will prevent business, the government and the private sector
to operate properly, at least until the "technical failure" is
resolved. The Association for Progressive Comunications (APC) is
expected to pick this up as one more illustration of the continued
limitations of access to the internet of billions of the world’s
citizen because of the shortcomings of an equitable internet governance.
